Peka‑Pro SGS (Sour Gas Service FBE)

About

Specialized fusion‑bonded epoxy (FBE) internal coating for pipelines carrying sour gas (H₂S and CO₂), engineered for extreme chemical resistance, long‑term adhesion, and structural integrity in highly aggressive service environments.

More info from this product

Peka‑Pro SGS from Peka Chemie is a high‑performance FBE coating designed to withstand the aggressive conditions of sour gas service, characterized by the presence of hydrogen sulfide (H₂S), carbon dioxide (CO₂), high temperature, and high pressure.

Built on an advanced epoxy resin matrix and reinforced with a liquid phenolic primer technology, the Peka‑Pro SGS system delivers exceptional chemical resistance, preventing coating disbondment and substrate corrosion even under prolonged exposure to corrosive fluids. Its smooth, inert finish reduces deposit accumulation, limits microbial growth, and supports maximum pipeline service life.

Extensively tested under simulated field conditions, Peka‑Pro SGS meets the strict performance specifications of international standards, including Saudi Aramco 09‑SAMSS‑091.

Key Advantages

  • Resistant to H₂S and CO₂ under high‑temperature/high‑pressure conditions
  • Liquid phenolic primer ensures superior adhesion and chemical resistance
  • Stable mechanical properties after thermal and chemical cycling
  • Smooth interior reduces scaling and fouling
  • Long service life with minimal maintenance requirements

Application Process

  1. Blast clean surface to Sa 3 (white metal finish), profile 50–100 μm
  2. Apply liquid phenolic primer to promote maximum adhesion
  3. Apply FBE powder coating to target DFT according to specification
  4. Cure under controlled conditions
  5. Inspect via holiday test, adhesion test, porosity, and Tg shift (cure check)
