Peka‑Pro Pr from Peka Chemie is a specialised fusion‑bonded epoxy (FBE) primer, formulated as the foundation layer for both dual‑layer FBE and three‑layer polyethylene (3LPE) pipeline coating systems.

As the primary corrosion‑resistant layer, it provides strong adhesion to blasted steel substrates, while its surface chemistry is optimised to bond effectively with adhesive layers in 3LPE or with functional topcoats in dual‑layer FBE. This ensures long‑term performance under mechanical stress, thermal cycling, and exposure to corrosive environments.

Peka‑Pro Pr meets IGS‑C‑TP‑010, CSA Z245.21, and ARAMCO 09‑SAMSS‑089 standards, making it suitable for oil, gas, petrochemical, and water pipeline projects globally.

Application Process

  1. Surface pretreatment: Shot blast to SA 2½ (ISO 11124‑3)
  2. Preheat substrate to 180–240 °C
  3. Apply epoxy primer layer at 200–500 μm
  4. For 3LPE/3LPP systems: Extrude adhesive layer over primer
  5. Apply polyethylene or polypropylene top layer via extrusion
  6. Cool under controlled conditions
