Peka‑Pro Re (Rebar Coating)

About

Fusion‑bonded epoxy (FBE) coating for steel reinforcement bars, delivering superior corrosion protection in concrete structures exposed to chlorides, carbonation, or harsh environmental conditions.

More info from this product

Peka‑Pro Re from Peka Chemie is an advanced fusion‑bonded epoxy coating engineered for steel reinforcement bars (rebar) used in concrete structures. While fresh concrete naturally forms an alkaline passive film on steel, this protection can be compromised by chloride ingress (e.g., from de‑icing salts or marine exposure) or carbonation of the cover layer. Once damaged, corrosion accelerates rapidly in the presence of oxygen and moisture.

Peka‑Pro Re creates an impermeable, chemically resistant barrier that prevents moisture and chloride penetration, significantly extending the service life of reinforced concrete infrastructure. It maintains strong adhesion through mechanical stress, thermal cycling, and concrete curing processes.

Key Advantages

  • Excellent corrosion resistance against chloride and carbonation attack
  • Strong bond to steel and durability in concrete pore water environment
  • High resistance to mechanical damage during handling and placement
  • Complies with major international rebar coating standards
  • Suitable for new projects and refurbishment of existing structures

Application Process

  1. Blast clean steel rebar to SA 2½ (ISO 11124‑3), profile 50–100 μm
  2. Preheat bars to application temperature
  3. Apply Peka‑Pro Re coating (typically 200–300 μm) by electrostatic spray
  4. Controlled curing to achieve uniform film formation
  5. Inspection, testing, and bundling for transport
