Peka‑Pro FE (Flow Efficiency FBE)

About

Specialized fusion‑bonded epoxy (FBE) internal coating for sweet gas pipelines, engineered to dramatically reduce surface roughness, improve flow capacity, and lower transportation costs.

More info from this product

Peka‑Pro FE from Peka Chemie is a premium internal FBE coating, purpose‑designed for pipelines transporting sweet (non‑corrosive) natural gas. Its advanced formulation produces an ultra‑smooth bore surface, cutting the internal surface roughness (Rz) from typical 30–50 μm to as low as < 1 μm.

This reduction minimizes turbulent drag, thereby improving gas transmission efficiency, enhancing throughput, and reducing compressor energy demand over the pipeline’s service life. Peka‑Pro FE is mechanically robust, chemically stable, and resistant to blistering under pressure, making it ideal for long‑haul gas infrastructure.

Key Advantages

  • Reduces Rz surface roughness to ≤ 3 μm (even < 1 μm achievable)
  • Increases gas throughput and lowers pumping/compression energy
  • Excellent adhesion and mechanical integrity under operating pressures
  • Resists gas blistering, hydraulic blistering, and abrasion
  • Compliant with API RP 5L2 and ISO 15741 for internal gas pipeline coatings

Application Process

  1. Blast clean internal pipe surface to SA 2½ (ISO 8501‑1) with 35–50 μm profile
  2. Apply Peka‑Pro FE epoxy powder by electrostatic spray or other approved method
  3. Heat cure per specification to cross‑link epoxy matrix
  4. Inspect surface roughness (profilometer), adhesion, and holiday detection before service
