Peka‑Pro DL‑UV (Dual Layer UV Resistant)

About

Dual‑layer Fusion Bonded Epoxy (FBE) coating system with a UV‑resistant polyester top layer, designed to prevent chalking and degradation in above‑ground or sunlight‑exposed pipelines.

More info from this product

Peka‑Pro DL‑UV from Peka Chemie is a protective dual‑layer pipeline coating system engineered for environments where continuous sunlight exposure can cause premature degradation of epoxy coatings. Under direct UV radiation, standard epoxy films tend to chalk and lose surface integrity; DL‑UV solves this by incorporating a third, UV‑resistant polyester layer over a standard dual‑layer FBE base.

This combination ensures long‑lasting corrosion protection, mechanical performance, and appearance, even for above‑ground or unburied installations in harsh climates.

Key Advantages

  • Superior UV resistance to prevent chalking and surface erosion
  • Maintains gloss, color stability, and mechanical integrity
  • Dual‑layer FBE base offers strong corrosion and cathodic disbondment resistance
  • Suitable for both high‑temperature and ambient‑temperature service conditions
  • Compliant with CSA Z245.20‑22 System 2C when combined with dual‑layer primer/basecoat

Application Process

  1. Blast clean steel to SA 2½ (ISO 11124‑3), profile 50–100 μm
  2. Preheat substrate to 210–240 °C
  3. Apply Peka‑Pro Pr primer layer (400 ± 50 μm)
  4. Apply dual‑layer corrosion protection FBE topcoat (400 ± 50 μm)
  5. Apply UV‑resistant polyester outer layer (50–100 μm) as final seal
  6. Controlled cooling before transport or installation
