Peka‑Pro DL‑AR (Dual Layer Abrasion Resistant)

About

Dual‑layer Fusion Bonded Epoxy (FBE) system with exceptional abrasion and gouge resistance, engineered for pipelines exposed to severe mechanical stress during handling, transport, and installation.

More info from this product

Peka‑Pro DL‑AR from Peka Chemie is a specialized Dual Layer FBE coating system developed to protect steel pipelines against mechanical damage caused by laying, handling, backfilling, and horizontal directional drilling (HDD). The system combines the proven corrosion resistance of Peka‑Pro Pr primer with an abrasion‑resistant topcoat, delivering long‑term integrity under extreme operating conditions.

Its special formulation ensures optimum protection against gouges and surface wear, making it ideal for environments with high mechanical loads and abrasive soil conditions. DL‑AR meets the rigorous requirements of IGS‑M‑TP‑026 and CSA Z245.20‑22 System 2B standards.

Key Advantages

  • Superior abrasion and gouge resistance in harsh mechanical environments
  • Maintains adhesion and corrosion protection under heavy handling loads
  • Meets IGS‑M‑TP‑026 and CSA Z245.20‑22 System 2B standards
  • Proven mechanical performance in HDD and rocky terrain installations
  • Designed for extended pipeline service life with minimal maintenance

Application Process

  1. Surface preparation to Near‑White Blast (SA 2½, ISO 11124‑3) with profile 50–100 μm
  2. Preheat steel substrate to 218–250 °C
  3. Apply Peka‑Pro Pr primer layer (450 ± 50 μm)
  4. Apply abrasion‑resistant DL‑AR topcoat (450 ± 50 μm)
  5. Apply optional tie‑over layer (50–100 μm) if specified
  6. Controlled cooling to lock in coating integrity
